Description

This course will explore the benefits of a multi-disciplinary balance patient journey, starting with the role of the Audiologist with testing and diagnosis through to the involvement of the physical therapist in assessment and treatment. This course will demonstrate how technology will benefit the clinician and patient through both assessment and treatment.

Learning Objectives

  • Be able to describe test protocols for vestibular assessment and how to report the findings to vestibular therapist.
  • Understand why computerized VOR assessments provide greater assessment and treatment potential than the standard bedside test.
  • Learn how Computerized Dynamic Posturography assessment and treatment can be vital to the treatment for difficult patients population such as central vestibular disorders.

Presenter

Michael Hoeper
Michael Hoeper graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy. He began working in the outpatient department at The Monroe clinic, starting as an orthopedic therapist and progressively became more focused on treating patients with neurologic, balance, and vestibular impairments. Michael has been working with Computerized Dynamic Posturography since 2007. In 2011 Michael became the lead neuro and vestibular PT at Monroe Clinic. Since 2016 Michael has been one the Foundations instructors for Bertec training courses nationally and internationally.
