Course: Advances in Videonystagmography (VNG)
Description
In this course, taken from our 4 day Trends in Balance 2021 event, you will learn about the latest and greatest developments in the field of video nystagmography and how these advances in testing and technology can benefit clinical practice.
Learning Objectives

Understand how to perform saccadometry, including protocol set up, patient instructions, and test results interpretation.

Be able to explain the frequency range of the VOR and the vestibular tests that are used to assess multiple frequencies.

Be able to describe the clinical utility of ocular torsion and how it can assist in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with dizziness.
Presenter
Dr. Devin McCaslin, Ph.D.
Dr. McCaslin’s major academic, clinical and research interests relate to vestibular assessment, healthcare economics, and the application of artificial intelligence to manage and treat dizzy patients. He serves as Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Academy of Audiology, is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Auditory Society, and is Past President of the American Balance Society.
Dr. Petrak's special areas of expertise include vestibular and balance testing, electrophysiological techniques and pediatric audiology. She is involved with product development, clinical evaluation testing, publishing, teaching and training on VNG and EP topics. She is also a licensed and practicing audiologist at Northwest Speech & Hearing in Arlington Heights, IL.
Dr Bahner received her AuD from A.T. Still University, AZ School of Health Sciences. She has several years of clinical experience, primarily in the area of vestibular diagnostics and EP assessment.
