Event. Integrating balance assessments into your pediatric service - Session 2

  • Date:
    20 June 2024
  • Location:

Over the last few years there has emerged a clear need for balance testing to be integrated into care plans for children with sensorineural hearing loss. But with many pediatric audiologists unskilled in vestibular assessment, where is best to start? In this eWorkshop we will explore the tools available to clinicians and focus on how to get started with testing pediatric balance function. Focus will be placed on questionnaires and VEMP testing with practical tips on running these measurements in infants and children.

Learning objectives:

  • List the questionnaires available to assist in identifying children with a balance issue
  • Explain how VEMP measurements can be performed on infants
  • Discuss treatment options for children with vestibular hypofunction
